Interpreting

INTERPRETING

We provide skilled and qualified interpreters, who are based all over the UK.

There are several modes of interpreting and our friendly staff will advise you what kind of interpreter is best for your requirements.

Whispered Interpreting
(simultaneous interpreting)

In this mode, the interpreter listens to the source language and talks in the target language at the same time.
Advantages: No equipment necessary, interpreting does not impact significantly on the length of the meeting
Disadvantages: Requires specialist skills, interpreter needs frequent breaks (approx. every 3o minutes)
Ideal for: Business meetings, court proceedings.

Consecutive Interpreting

In this mode, the interpreter listens to the source language, makes notes and talks in the target language when the speaker pauses.
Advantages: Both source and target speech is heard and can be audio recorded if required
Disadvantages: interpreting impacts significantly on the length of the meeting
Ideal for: Business meetings, legal conferences, court proceedings, medical appointments, prison visits.

Conference Interpreting
(simultaneous interpreting in a booth)

In this mode, the interpreter is in a booth, listens to the source language and talks in the target language at the same time.
Advantages: The target language listener can follow what is being said in real time
Disadvantages: Requires specialist equipment and skills, normally a team of 2 interpreters is required
Ideal for: conferences

NEW! Telephone Interpreting

Our new service is providing three-way conference calls between the English speaker, the non-English speaker and the interpreter
